Ministry of Finance Director-General for Management and Mobilization of External Resources , Antonio Freitas and UNDP Resident Representative , Munkhtuya Altangerel signed a Government Financing Agreement for the “Supporting Flood Response and Recovery” Project.
The according to the released that Timor Post access today, through UNDP page on Facebook, said the agreement was taken on Friday (16/04) in the Finance Ministeriu office.
The project is co-funded by the Government of Timor-Leste (US$ 1 million through ADB’s Asia Pacific Disaster Response Fund financed by the Government of Japan), the Government of the Republic of Korea (US$ 100,000) and UNDP (US$ 300,000).
“Today’s launching of this timely initiative was possible thanks to the trust and partnership from all the respective Ministries of the Government and development partners. UNDP will continue to closely consult and collaborate with the Government and affected communities to ensure complementarity and sustainability of the project. Hamutuk Ita Forte!”, said Munkhtuya Altangerel, Resident Representative of UNDP in Timor-Leste.
The Supporting Flood Response and Recovery Project will distribute ‘cash and food for work’ to support community recovery efforts and replenish losses caused by natural disaster.(****)
